a little handmade goodness

looking through some of my favorite design blogs this week i discovered this great idea for cute and simple handmade earrings. in a quest for classic vintage earring studs, she realized that buttons + earring backings + spray paint = endless possibilities for quick style. aren’t these great?

then i stumbled upon this blog post explaining how to make fabric covered thumbtacks. why not use the same technique to make fabric covered earrings? instead of attaching a tack on the back of the button, attach the earring backing instead and voila! the ability to make inexpensive and cute earrings with any color and style you want. love it!

not sure if i can find these backings in botswana but today i am on the hunt!
